Introduction:

Polykemi and Rondo Plast have invested nearly SEK 25 million to expand their production capacity by around 7,500 tonnes of recycled material per year. This level of output is uncommon in both Sweden and across Europe.

Features:

Polykemi and Rondo Plast have strengthened their recycling operations with new equipment. The companies installed a plastic recycling machine from Erema with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes per year. In March 2026, they further expanded production by adding a ReadyMac system with an additional capacity of 2,500 tonnes per year.

This investment allows the companies to handle a larger part of the recycling process in-house. It helps stabilise materials earlier in the process and improves quality control during upgrading.

The expansion also improves access to raw materials. By processing materials themselves, the companies can secure a more reliable supply for customers. In addition, they are widening their sourcing channels and can now use plastics from new streams such as ropes, marine nets and bottles, along with increasing volumes of non-woven and fibre materials.
